TJB 495B might not be as widely recognized as some of our other donors, but her influence on our program is significant. While she didn’t produce in large numbers, the quality of her offspring truly set her apart. Though 495B is no longer in production, she left behind several outstanding homozygous black, higher percentage daughters to carry on her legacy. Her dam, TJB 921U, is a foundational female in our program, appearing in the pedigrees of many of our cattle. 495B was one of the most phenotypically unique daughters of 921U—moderate in frame, yet massive in body, with a perfect udder that she maintained throughout her life. Her legacy lives on through the daughters she left behind, continuing to shape the direction of our program.
